A friendly welcoming micro bar. 4 Real ales on pump and regular beer festivals through out the year. Local entertainers Thursday and Friday 7-10 and Saturday 8.30-11. We also hold a Jam session on Sunday 4 - 7 (ish). Come and say hello to Chris, Karen, Jess and Sonny.
Whats Going On!

Whisky Tastings.
7 Single Malt Whisky samples, a buffet and food all included in the price. Booking is required as numbers are limited for these events. Usually held on a Saturday between 12 noon and 3pm ish
Port Evenings
Tasty port samples with a little talk about each one. We have had a few of these events and they are always popular. Booking is required as places are limited. Price includes the port and a little buffet.
Jam Session
Time to come play, sing or just listen to the Jam session. It says it finishes at 7 but it's very rare this actually happens. If we are having a good time, it carries on until you have had enough.

A Little Bar with a Big Heart
About Us
Opened originally in October 2014 by George and Walter from The Little Chester. It was then taken over by Karen and Chris O'Brien and Many and Richard from the Muirhouse Brewery in May 2015. In January 2016 Karen and Chris bought Mandy and Richard out and now own the business outright. We call our selves a community bar, because we are part of our community. We regularly raise money for local charities which you will see below.
In 2017 we were finalists in the Derby Food and Drink awards and made an entry into the Good Beer Guide.

Motor Neurone Disease
All Year
We raise money for this worthy charity all year round. Our swear box is usually clattering with the sounds of coins going in. We like the money to stay locally, to help those in the area who are either suffering with the disease or their helpers and family who might need a little support. So far in just under 3 years we have raised over £3500 for them.
Help for Heroes Fundraiser
May 12 and 13 2018
This was a weekend affair. We were supported by our customers, our suppliers and our local musicians. Because of this support we were able to raise the stunning figure of £1100 (still being counted so may increase). All our musicians gave up their time for free, we had over 30 raffle prizes which were all donated, a tombola stall where again all the prizes were donated and a BBQ where all the profits went into our total. For a little bar to raise this much money over a weekend is fantastic and you should all be so proud and Chris and I thank you for your tremendous support.

Derby Food and Drink Awards 2017
October 2018
Thanks to our customers we were voted into the final of The Best Pub in Derby. We were so proud to be voted into the final stage and for us this was even better than the possibility of us winning. It means that we are obviously doing something right for you.  Getting to the award ceremony and being part of the evening will be a highlight of our time at the pub. We didn't win but you never know, we might have another chance another year. Thank you for this.
